Home of the Firebirds
Since 1952, Palm Valley School (PVS) has stood alone as the Coachella Valley’s only non-religious, college-prep, independent school. With our commitment to developing leaders, Palm Valley School provides an Infant-12th grade nurturing environment in which highly motivated students flourish and find success in the classroom, at colleges and universities throughout the nation, and beyond.
Admission
Offering an average school-wide student to faculty ratio of twelve to one, our small class sizes offer personal attention and a college preparatory curriculum designed to meet the individual strengths and needs of each student. Find out if PVS is right for you!
Academics
With the most rigorous, college-preparatory academic program in the Coachella Valley, the Palm Valley Private School is home to motivated students and talented faculty members. PVS aims to meet every student where they are and ensure that they are adequately challenged and engaged.
Campus Life
From specialized class offerings to a generous slate of extra-curricular activities led by caring and skilled professionals, the Palm Valley Private School community is like no other. It is our hope that the warmth and nurturing that makes our Firebird Family so special will invite you to visit our campus.

about us
Palm Valley Private School occupies 34 acres in Rancho Mirage with stunning mountain views. The campus features separate campuses and buildings for each of our four divisions – Preschool (ages 6wks to 4), Elementary (Grades K-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12), along with a full-size gymnasium, several separate recesses and athletic fields, a black box theater and smart lab.
You will often find our Head of School, Dr. Sherman, waving to you at the entrance of the campus or shooting hoops in the gym with the students – it’s important to him that you feel welcomed at PVS.
An in-person tour with our Director of Admissions is simply the best way to embrace our beautiful 34-acre campus, but here’s a teaser to prepare you for your visit!
Palm Valley School has a strong tradition of educational excellence, but don’t take our word for it! Hear from Firebird Families about their experience and maybe you’ll find commonalities in their stories.
Student spotlight: sara Habibipour
“Growing up in a multicultural household, I’ve always had a fascination with learning how other people’s ways of living differ from my own. I’d love to travel the world and experience new cultures. I’ve always had a dream to build hospitals and deliver medical care to developing countries while learning about different cultures and that’s something I strive to pursue in the future.”
– Sara Habibipour, Class of 2022
